It's no secret that designers love to go bold in powder rooms and guest baths. Surprise! I'm one of those designers. The thought is to put a more dramatic twist on a space that doesn't have to be seen by the homeowner every-waking-minute, but also elevates a guest-frequented area.
So we're providing some simple, yet practical, pieces to pump up the style.... regardless of if you're hosting book club or negotiating potty training.

For starters, save your guests from having to use TP to blow their nose. And save yourself from having to figure out which Kleenex box will look best in your stylish new bath. There's nothing that says put-together quite like a cover on your box of hankies and THIS one works with about any style.

Now, you're going to need somewhere to throw that tissue. I realize there are a lot of "pretty" waste baskets out there, but if it doesn't hold water, it isn't coming in my house. Trash cans should be able to be washed, end. of. story. So, here's a couple that pass our test of stylish AND practical...not to mention they are inexpensive! I can't handle spending $100
on something that my dog is going to
rummage through.

If you want to make sure your guest remember their visit, let them run out of TP. I, for one, don't want my guest remember my home that way! However, not all powder rooms have room for a vanity with storage, which means back-stocking TP becomes, well, unsightly. There's the old "basket with a lid" option, but I much prefer to add a little humor. Hence, THESE long-tailed critters. My vote is for the alligator!
And while your fine-folks are looking at the floor, you might as well make it good looking. Here are a few small rugs, with big impact.

Lastly, when all the business is done, you gotta wash your hands. When it comes to linens, we love classic white. But it doesn't have to be boring. Here are a few options from kid-friendly to gift-worthy.

We'll take that whole powder room, please!
